Garrard Hayes is a lifelong New York resident whose ancestors made their living on the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn. His love of action and crime fiction, together with a knack for good, gritty storytelling, sparked him to write. He lives in New York with his wife, two children, and three dogs. Garrard Hayes hosts a crime fiction book review blog.
Here's a synopsis of his book Bourbon and Blood:
Bill Conlin returns home from a dangerous military tour in Afghanistan. Like many veterans haunted by war he’s fallen on hard times. After meeting a beautiful woman and falling in love, Bill is forced into New York City's dark underworld and a crime career he doesn't want. When his girlfriend is suddenly kidnapped Bill must negotiate with coldhearted killers to buy her freedom. Will money be enough or will it cost him his life?
